BiographyScott Effman is a Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer based in Los Angeles. Scott started collaborating with writers in NYC while he was interning at recording studios, where he began a production duo with Swedish producer Lukas Nathanson. He became known for his eccentricity and ability to work with artists in many genres, including Chris Brown, Akon, Mike Posner, Boyz II Men, The Saturdays, Priscilla Renea, Bridgit Mendler, while equally staying true to his folk and alternative-pop influences. His work with latin artist Natalia Jimenez on her latest album ‘Creo En Mi’ landed him a Latin Grammy nomination for Album of the Year in 2015. His work on the Chris Brown album ‘X’ was also nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album.
Scott is currently focused on writing alternative pop, folk and country while also focusing on television and commercial music. His song ‘Day To Feel Alive’ with Dutch artist Jake Reese has been the centerpiece of two national Ameriprise Financial ads ‘Be Brilliant’, and the theme for Anderson Cooper’s 2016 ‘The Person Who Changed My Life’ two-hour special. His song ‘What If It’s You’ written with Audra Mae was featured in ABC show ‘Nashville’ sung by lead actress Hayden Panettiere, and released on the Nashville soundtrack as a single. Scott co-wrote and co-produced the current single by Warner artist Sofia Reyes and Prince Royce titled ‘Solo Yo’ (english version ‘Nobody But Me’), with his vocal production and folkish guitar playing a major role. His more stripped-down indie urban productions with songwriter Sam Hook on his project have turned into cuts with Justin Bieber, Cody Simpson, Trey Songz and Akon. His work with Tiffany Vartanyan has seen collaborations with Ryan Tedder and Bloodshy & Avant. Tiffany also played a major role in bringing him to Nashville’s songwriter and artist community, where he has gone to work with many artists and writers on Big Machine and Big Deal. Their work with country artist Jaida Dreyer, set to be released this year, has evolved into a fresh indie-leaning take on traditional country. Scott’s topline work with EDM artists has also become a primary focus. In the fall of 2015, he was invited to Stockholm to work with Avicii’s artists signed to his PRMD imprint. Earlier that year, Scott co-wrote one of Monstercat’s most popular releases of 2015, ’The Girl’ by DJ Hellberg featuring ‘Dolphin Tales’ actress Cozi Zuehlsdorff; as well as ‘I’m Not Over’ feat Tash, and ‘Wasted Summer’ feat.
